This 300mm f5.6 Schneider Symmar lens covers up to 8X10 format and possibly will go up to 10x12" too.   The rear element can be used on its own as a 500mm f12 lens making it a versatile combo for those shooting 5x7 and 8x10 and trying to travel light.  The compound shutter runs fine although it is about 1 stop slow - you can do a calibration check but I guess most users will be shooting on B for longer exposures anyway.  Glass is clean and scratch free however it has some haze or moisture between the elements which is possibly cleanable if you can find a tech willing to get into it.  For me I would just leave it as it is knowing it will still be sharp and fix any resulting loss of contrast in post.  (If you are going to use the Harman Direct Positive material this lack of contrast will probably help you!)
